UNDERMINED WISHES
Poem |
I wish I was the son you wanted,
Good enough to live the expectations.
I wish I was the brother you needed,
Fighting your battles and mine.
I wish I was the friend you deserved,
In dark times and bright ones.
I wish I was the lover to set your soul ablaze,
Shower and pamper you with love.
I wish I was the person you looked up to,
To put you on the path of righteousness.
But I’m sorry,
I’m torn in-between myself
Worn-out right from the heart
Failed, even to myself…
I’m sorry,
But I’m sad and depressed
Lonely and broken,
So I can’t be who you need me be,
Nor who I want me be.
