Blood On My Hands Part 1 Episode 16

 A ROUGH TRIP

Sofiat’s POV
Sometimes in our lives we experience the same  thing in a different way. We might have failed to save the day the first time it happened because then we were weaklings and inexperienced but when you get a second chance to change things, you don’t mess up.

At Aga express way (about 2km away ‘Apelle’)

Aunt Hajarat – (on comms with soffie) You are almost there but I think there’s a problem.

Sofiat – Yeah, I can see that (watching carefully as their vehicle (public transit) was approaching the black boys zone (armed robbers))

Robber 1 – (fired the tyres of the cars as the driver tried to change direction)

Passengers – (Panicking)

Passenger 1 – (a woman with a baby) Ahh, my husband warned me not to follow night motor oohh

Passenger 2 – (A dark skinned beautiful lady) Wahala oohh… Oh God help us survive this..

Passenger 3 – (A slim man with a default) Driver see now.. I tell you say this road no good for night, now see.

Passenger 4 – (a fair man who was sleeping) (he woke up in shock hearing the gun shot) what’s happening?

Passenger 5 – (A woman who is a trader) (she replied passenger 4) Na driver carry us enter bad people spot ohh

Passenger 6 – (a young boy (Jamb candidate) returning after his exams) (started to cry he called his mother’s line and wasn’t able to speak but tears)

Sofiat – (so furious seeing the whole event happening) (she looks at the Young boy and remembered her brother Hamza and now she’s ready to retaliate)

Robber 3 – Young lady, can’t you hear me? I said lye down (he commands sofiat)

Sofiat – Haven’t you heard of the Legend? (trying to create a distraction)

Robber 4 – What legend?

Sofiat – (watched all 4 armed men carefully) It’s a story of a young boy who gets an opportunity to visit his past and future.

Robber 1 – What’s going on?… Can’t you both see she’s just causing a distraction? (He screamed at them as he was observing if any other vehicle was coming)

Robber 3 – I’m so dumb to have fallen for your tricks (he cracked his gun and shot the sky) now lye down (he ordered again)

The passengers – (worried and frightened)

Sofiat – (still refused to lye down)

Robber 3 – What da fvck, you ain’t scared?

Robber 4 – (attempting to hit her)

Sofiat – (dodged him and used an handcuff on him quickly)

Robber 3 – (alert the orders) she’s a cop…(he shoots carelessly and killed Robber 4)

They all flee in fright (The Robbers) as they thought sofiat was a cop.

Aunt Hajarat – (through the comms) soffie, hope you not hurt?

Sofiat – Nope.. There are just some hungry thieves and they flee already.

Aunt Hajarat – Okay.. Thank God you were able to keep those lives save. But there’s bad news, The Police are heading to your way.

Sofiat – Ohh boy!… (She ran away as she saw the vehicle coming)…

The police arrived at the scene and interrogate the passengers… None of them could narrate exactly what happened but all they knew was that someone in the vehicle saved their lives today.

Detective Sam – Sir from the report of these victims, I think the Assassin from Oyo is in town. And he’s heading straight to Apelle.

Inspector Segun – (Listened to Detective Sam) You’re right… We need to find him and stop him now. Let’s go (they entered their vehicle and began the chase)

Sofiat’s POV
I ran to an extent that I couldn’t catch my breath. They shot me twice at the same spot on my hands and I was so weak. I got to the Young Scholar’s location and my blood dripped down on the sand and I hid my marks (footprints) to confuse the police. When they got there, the inspector asked everyone to come out, so the rooms can be checked and here comes a great opportunity to get in.

Sofiat – (dressed in a police uniform she obtained from one the detective) (she followed the other cops into the room of the young scholar as the inspector ordered them to recheck the building for a second time)

Aunt Hajarat – Smart girl (she praised her niece)

Sofiat – (stayed back as the rest officers left after searching)

(The police returned to the station in their van as they lost sight of her)…

Abdulrasaq – (entered his house so tired after locking the doors) (he made some dua and then slept off)

Sofiat – (undressed from the police wear and kept it aside) (she wrapped herself up as she was catching cold due to the bullet wound) (she tries to get it out by herself and she searched the kitchen for a knife)

Aunt Hajarat – Soffie… I don’t think you can get that bullet out of your skin all by yourself.. you need help.

Sofiat – But the only one who can help me is sleeping right now. (She thought of a plan) but I think I know what to do (she entered his room quietly) (she go closer to his bed and held his phone)

Aunt Hajarat – Soffie I need to sleep now.. knowing you are in safe hands.

Sofiat – Okay goodnight Aunt!.

After a while…

Abdulrasaq – (woke from a nightmare) (entered the kitchen to drink water)

Abdulrasaq – (he heard footsteps from behind) Who’s there? (He checked himself for his phone but didn’t find it)

Sofiat – Ohhh, I think you are looking for this (she showed him his phone)

Abdulrasaq – (moving backwards) how did you get in?

Sofiat – That’s a little Secret of it’s own!…. It’s nice to truly meet you Young Scholar.

Curtains….

To be continued…
