EPL: Chelsea 2 : 0 Fulham
In a late-night matchup at Craven Cottage against rival Fulham, Chelsea defeated them 2-0 to get back on the winning track.
The Ukrainian international Mudryk scored the opening goal for the Blues in the 18th minute after Colwill’s pass was clipped.
After Ream’s shoddy clearance, Broja increased the advantage a minute later by slipping past Leno.
After circling Leno and shooting the ball away in the second minute, Broja missed a huge opportunity.
Raheem Sterling, who coach Pochettino claimed hadn’t played in the previous three days, was replaced by Palmer, who made his first start for the Blues.
Armando Broja, who is starting for the team for the first time since November 2022 after missing time with a knee injury, replaced Nicolas Jackson, the front man for the Blues, who was suspended. Willian, a former Chelsea attacker who won two Premier League titles with the club, was notable among the starting lineup for the home team.
Since beating Luton Town, Chelsea has lost all three of their league games.
The Blues’ most recent league match ended in a 1-0 loss to Aston Villa at home.
With the victory at Craven Cottage, Chelsea rose to the 11th spot, sharing eight points with Fulham, who has remained in the 13th spot, after their first seven league games.
Nottingham Forest, led by Taiwo Awoniyi, is in 12th place with eight points as well.
