Fuel Subsidy is organized crime – Peter Obi

 Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee for president in the 2023 election, has called fuel subsidies an organized crime.   On Monday, Obi made this statement while discussing the approach he would have taken differently to prevent the impending strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress on Arise TV’s “The Morning Show.”.   “Fuel subsidy is organized crime. It should be taken down, I repeatedly urged. My strategy would have been to eliminate the corruption, criminal element, and excessive demand.  

“By doing this, you would have cut it in half. The remaining 50% is what we would have been able to remove and demonstrate the proceeds of the removal’s gains to be invested in important development areas after consulting with various stakeholders in order to find a way to do so in an organized manner. “.   The former governor of Anambra State added that he was optimistic about Nigeria’s future.
