LP advises Atiku not to include Obi in his fight with Tinubu
The Labour Party’s leadership has asked Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential nominee, to exclude its candidate, Peter Obi, from his dispute with President Bola Tinubu, claiming the former Anambra governor is only interested in winning back his “stolen mandate” at the supreme court.
But the party emphasized that it would welcome any support for its efforts to build a country where genuine justice would reign.
The response was in response to Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party and the PDP candidate for Obi, who had urged supporters to join his crusade in exposing the president’s allegedly dirty secrets.
The party made the appeal that they would appreciate it if their candidate was allowed to focus on his case at the top court in a statement released in Abuja on Wednesday by the National Publicity Secretary of LP, Obiora Ifoh.
The statement said, “The Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is currently in the Supreme Court seeking to reclaim his stolen mandate and he is focused on that.
“He has been at the forefront of ensuring a just nation where justice must be the guiding principle, and he won’t stop until Nigeria gets the leadership it truly deserves.
Obi has argued that leaders should set an example for others to follow and lead honorable lives.
“He accomplished this by publicly disclosing his credentials for inspection. If honest and honorable men are in charge of Nigeria’s affairs, the country will improve. “As a result, we welcome any other interest that is willing to work with us to build a country where justice will rule”.
