LiveIsrael warns Gaza residents to flee homes ahead of retaliatory strikes

As we previously reported, Israel opened fire into Lebanese territory in response to mortar fire coming from that country.   

The shooting, according to an Israel Defense Forces spokesman, took place in the Mount Dov region, which is a piece of land that Israel, Lebanon, and Syria all claim to be part of and is situated close to the borders of all three countries.   

Israel has warned Lebanon’s ferocious Hezbollah movement to stay out of the fighting.   

Hezbollah is a Shia-Islamist political, military, and social organization that dominates Lebanon. Iran, Israel’s fiercest foe, supports it, just like it does Hamas. Israel and it engaged in combat for one month in 2006.   

After a Lebanese anti-tank missile was launched in July, Israel’s military retaliated with artillery fire.
