NYSC Camp Registration Guidelines: 7 Crucial Stages
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is an integral part of Nigerian culture, and its mandatory camp registration process is the first step for recent graduates. With proper planning and knowledge of the registration guidelines, the process can be seamless. Here is an introduction to the seven crucial stages of NYSC Camp Registration:
Stage 1: Gate Registration
- Show your Call-up Letter to camp security
- Undergo luggage search and receive a tag number
- Jog into the camp (if required)
Stage 2: Bed Space Allocation
- Proceed to the second registration point
- Provide your name and confirm allocation
- Receive a bed space and drop your luggage (at owner’s risk)
- Proceed to Stage 3
Stage 3: Verification
- Provide original documents (Call-up Letter, Statement of Result, Green Card, School ID, and Medical Certificate)
- Undergo verification and confirmation
- Proceed to Stage 4
Stage 4: Biometric Registration
- Undergo thumbprint verification
- Confirm information and receive:
- Camp Corps Member Registration Slip
- Temporary ID
- Certificate format
- Performance report form
- Bio-data form
- Make photocopies of the slip and keep the original for further use
- Check your platoon assignment based on your state code
Stage 5: Platoon Allocation
- Gather at designated platoon locations
- Meet your platoon officer and receive:
- File
- Meal ticket
- NYSC Kits
Stage 6: Bank Account Opening
- Open a new bank account (later stage activity)
Stage 7: First Parade
- Report to the parade ground at 4:00 am (after completing registration and kitting up)
- Participate in the first parade and receive the timetable
- Get accustomed to the environment and camp activities
