Auchi Polytechnic Update: HOD Seeks Quick Fix to Graduation Date Error
The error in the graduation date on the statement of result remains a persistent concern for the newly registered Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Auchi Polytechnic, causing them undue anxiety and uncertainty.
The latest development regarding the discrepancy in the graduation date on the statement of results reveals that it was not an error, but rather a deliberate entry made by the Academic Management office, which was responsible for sending the data to the staff responsible for printing the results, absolving the MIS department of any blame.
The issue has become a point of contention between the Head of Department and the Academic Management Committee, who are convinced that the statement of results should bear the date of the last Academic Board meeting, leading to a standoff over the correct date to be reflected on the documents.
To accelerate the resolution process, the Head of Department of Electrical Engineering took the proactive step of visiting the Deputy Rector’s office, hoping to secure a swift solution by directly engaging with the higher authority.
Following a brief discussion between the HOD and the Deputy Rector, the latter directed the former to compile a list of the affected graduates’ names and submit a letter requesting the correction. Once the letter is received, the Deputy Rector will sign off on the correction, and then the document will be forwarded to the Academic office to implement the changes, after which it will be returned to the staff for reprinting.
With the day drawing to a close, the HOD had to head back to his office to wrap up his tasks and then return home to his family, intending to resume work on the issue the following day.
