In a significant development, the Niger State Government, the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Niger State Chapter signed a tripartite agreement with Niger Foods to promote food production in the state.
The agreement, focused on crop production, entails Niger Foods supplying farm inputs and other implements to teachers interested in agricultural activities. This landmark agreement significantly represents a vital step in the state’s efforts to address food insecurity and promote sustainable agriculture.
With teachers at the forefront of this initiative, the tripartite agreement also highlights the potential for educators to engage in agricultural activities as a supplementary income stream, while also serving as role models for students interested in pursuing careers in agriculture.
Governor Abubakar Sani Bello commended the teachers for this strategic partnership and assured them of ongoing support.
