O May I sing to the air
As the bird do
When the golden sun
Has driven away the rain
O May I laugh and play
When the tree are green
And flowers grow and blossom
And where I light Every where
O May I join the blue sea
To sing And laugh
When the day is clear
And the horizon is visible.
O May I, may l, may l!
Laugh and talk and dreams
When the shepherd drives his flock
Home from the field
