A NYSC corps member serving in Abuja has become one of the first beneficiaries of the new national minimum wage of N70,000, courtesy of her employer who runs a utensils shop.

She spent her one-year NYSC period working at the utensils shop, her assigned Place of Primary Assignment, and has now completed her service.

A heartwarming video shared by Dee Utensils shows the NYSC corps member expressing gratitude to the CEO for their support during her service year and also thanking them for their kindness during her time of bereavement.

The owner, who had sought clarification on the minimum wage, promptly instructed her manager to pay the NYSC corps member, and also offered her a permanent role if she wished to stay on, even if it meant going above the current staffing levels.
